Based out of Mesa, Arizona, On The Side Studios is a small art studio that specializes in fused glass creations and paintings, wood and luthiery, and blacksmithing.  Each piece is lovingly hand crafted by the artists, Katie and Jon Miller.

Katie Miller is an Arizona native, born and raised in small town Arizona.  She moved to the Valley of the Sun for college where she studied biomedical

engineering. She and her husband live in Mesa,  where she works for a local medical device manufacturer.

Her love for art is genetic, having talented artists on both her mother and father’s side of the family. She has explored many different mediums, including oil and acrylic paint, ceramics, and glass fusing and slumping, where she found her creative calling.

“For me, working with glass is a fascinating process. It mixes two of my passions in life – science and art. “

 

On The Side Studios was started in 2010 as a way for the artist, Katie Miller, to share her passion for art with others. Each piece of her art is one-of-a-kind, and lovingly handcrafted.

Jon Miller grew up in both Indiana and Arizona.  He studied Biomedical Engineering at ASU where he met his wife, Katie.  Jon works at an injection molding company that makes medical, pharmaceutical, and commercial products.

Jon has a wide variety of hobbies that include luthiery, wood turning, blacksmithing, and bladesmithing.
